This group has been around since 1998 from out in San Diego, CA. Their website might not have been updated in a while, but here’s what is important: they’re good. Kinda mellow, with simple drum beats in most songs and a lulling guitar, they make good music. According to Wikipedia their style is Indie Rock, Progressive Rock, and Electronic Rock. I stumbled upon them because part of their song Good to Sea (from their album Autumn of the Seraphs) was used in How I Met Your Mother’s latest episode (Season 6, Episode 16). Check out the song below and let us know what you think.

These guys, as a friend puts it, “[are] way legit.” But don’t take our/her word for it. Instead, head over to this playlist to hear music from their album Tourist History. The band is from Northern Ireland and have Indie Rock, Electronica, and Alternative Rock influences. Though it’s a three man team they really drive the music. You can always check out their music at the band’s myspace as well.

In the midst of the great Snowpocalypse of 2011 we’re putting on a Red Umbrella playlist to remind us that at least we don’t have it as bad as Canada does weather-wise. So, if you are a person who loves the snow then strap on those snowshoes, otherwise you’ll wanna bundle up with a good playlist to survive the Snowpocalypse.
A guy named Walter May put together (secretly, mind you) this video with the help of his roommates. The endeavor is in hopes that it will make its way across the country to his girlfriend who is at grad school. We thought we’d help it on its way. You can do the same by reposting it, tweeting it, or throwing it on facebook.
May is a member of a band called The Daylights. I’d say they’re now on a good start to being known. I wonder if they listen to OK GO.
